Transformative Radio is the online radio station of the Transformative Studies Institute. In line with the goals of the Institute, the station seeks to give voice to the voiceless and dispossessed and make some possible suggestions for a way out of the mess and chaos produced by capitalism and structured inequalities of all kinds. It consists of three parts: 1. Liberation Frequency–an interview show, featuring interviews with authors and activists dedicated to social justice; 2. Transformative Lectures–a show that features lectures and talks focused on the theory and practice of bringing about a saner world; and 3. Transformative Music–a music show that provides us with songs and sounds to smash inequaity to. Liberation Frequency is a radio program developed as an interview show to highlight the work of social justice activists, scholars, and authors. Transformative Lectures, a project of Transformative Radio, is dedicated to bringing you relevant and inspiring lectures and talks on social justice, militancy, and organizing. It is our hope to provide people with stirring and exciting new ideas, as well as still-relevant old ideas, to add to our toolkits for creating just communities. We are constantly looking for new material for shows, so if you know of a good lecture, talk, or panel discussion, don't hesitate to contact the Director of Transformative Radio with information.
Transformative Music, a project of Transformative Radio, is a radio show that seeks to build a cultural component for efforts at social change with a variety of genres and styles of music. We focus on artists that are either unsigned, or signed to very small record labels, to give a platform for musical expression for those who avoid the corporate slop house of musical crap.
